24: UNDERGROUND #5 (Finale) Review

Posted on the 27 August 2014 by Geekasms @geekasms

This being the final issue in the 24: Underground series, I don’t know if I was pleased or not with this chapter. We left off with Petro being shot and killed in the last issue because Jack (Borys) went away from the instructions that were given. Jack tries to give himself up for Sofiya but she took off running and got scrounged up by the CIA. Since the Feds are rolling in, Jack and Mishka take off. That trip doesn’t last long until Bauer does his thing and gets out of Mishka’s custody for a short while. The two CIA agents are now there and the final assault happens. SPOILERS!!!! Jack gets away and vanishes from all that knows him.

This reminds me of how the TV series ended before they brought it back. It’s also not too far off to how Live Another Day ended. It was kind of predictable but you might expect that from a 24 book. Being only 5 issues there wasn’t much to be done. If we relate that to the show, there would be 19 more episodes left so it leaves me wanting more. Maybe there will be another book coming out in the 24 genre. If you like the TV show, pick this up in/when it comes out in trade format. It would read much nicer.
