Welcome to Readers’ Workouts, the weekly event where book lovers share workout stories, goals, successes, and challenges.

Three solid days of rain and I won’t be meeting my steps goal this month — but I’ve already met my strength-training goal, so I’ll consider that a worthy effort for the holiday week.

  • 1110 of 1200 minutes
  • 20 of 24 days with 8000 steps or more
  • 8 of 8 strength-training sessions

Since it’s so near New Year’s Eve, I thought I’d take a look at my monthly logs and see how often I met my goals.

January’s goal was 1200 minutes with 8 strength-training sessions — met.
February’s goal was 1200 minutes with 8 strength-training sessions and 21 days of 8k steps — met.
March’s goal was 1300 minutes with 8 strength-training sessions and 21 days of 8k steps — met.
April’s goal was 1300 minutes with 8 strength-training sessions and 21 days of 8k steps — met.
May’s goal was 1300 minutes with 8 strength-training sessions and 21 days of 8k steps — met.
June’s goal was 1300 minutes with 8 strength-training sessions and 21 days of 8k steps — met.
July’s goal was 1300 minutes with 8 strength-training sessions and 21 days of 8k steps — met.
August’s goal was 1300 minutes with 8 strength-training sessions and 21 days of 8k steps — met.
September’s goal was 1300 minutes with 8 strength-training sessions and 21 days of 8k steps — met.
October’s goal was 880 minutes with 6 strength-training sessions and 17 days of 8K steps — met only the 17 days one.
November’s goal was 1200 minutes with 8 strength-training sessions and 24 days of 8K steps — met.
December’s goal was 1200 minutes with 8 strength-training sessions and 24 days of 8K steps — I’ll likely fall one day shy of the 24 days, but meet the other two.

Cool! I hadn’t realized that I did that well. I also didn’t realize that I lost 100 minutes but gained 3 days of 8000 steps in my goal-setting somewhere. I may want to take that into account as I’m setting goals in 2016.

One of the things I’m most pleased about is that I had a streak of daily exercise from January 9 until I left on my Cuba trip in October. And, that I re-started a streak of daily exercise on November 1. I’m hoping to keep that going until we travel again, probably in the fall.
