2013 fresh new year

Woohoo, a fresh New Year!

Yep, it’s 2013!

Don’t you just love a fresh new year? I do, and this morning I was stoked to wake up to 2013! Yep, that’s right, I was in bed catching up on some zzzzzzzzzeds before the clock struck midnight, but that’s ok as New Year’s Eve, for me anyway, is not the big party deal that it was in my younger days.

Last night, I’m sure that there were many resolutions declared (in varying states of sobriety) but I’ve grown away from new year resolutions and instead prefer to focus upon goals. SMART goals will be the way to go for me in 2013 and in order to assist me in reaching my goals, I intend to make sure that the steps are broken down into achievable bite-size pieces.

Bright and early on January 01, here are my thoughts, goals and dreams for the brand new year ahead. In 2013, I intend to …

  • master a greater variety of easy to prepare and simple to cook nutritious meals in order to decrease our reliance on processed products
  • manage my time much more effectively – spending it purposefully and productively – enter ASTRID, a little tool that I’m playing with to help in this area
  • grow Family Survival Coach towards the vision I have for this space (stay tuned!)
  • let go of things, events (past and present), people and activities that are not attuned with my journey
  • learn, read, listen and practice

The above five points are really just a framework, and as soon as I can grab some quiet time, I’ll be doing a lot of reflecting on the year that’s flown by. Then, will come the task of mind mapping my plans for what WILL be an awesome 2013.

How are you approaching the New Year? Do you make resolutions or goals, or are you into going with the flow?
