The terrorists swung into action after the silence of almost a month to claim the lives of 20 more people in Karachi, including three policemen, and injuring dozens.
Unknown four armed men, riding the motorbike, opened fire on a police mobile in result of which three personnel, identified as Iqbal, Amjad and Amir, lost their lives. The killers fled the scene. Panic prevailed in the area following the incident. Police, rangers and law enforcement agencies rushed to the spot and launched investigation.
The most deadly massacre occurred in the Lyari area, where at least 12 people including three innocent children killed and 26 others injured including women in result of exchange of ammunition between two groups of gang war. The inhabitants of the area were forced to confine at their homes. The role of police and rangers and the law enforcement personnel was wretched here as the played the role of a silent spectator.
Those who killed include eight-year-old girl Dua, Iqra, 13, Saba, 15, Sajid Baloch, 30, Anwar Baloch, 25, Sarfaraz Baloch, 7, and Abdul Samad, 33. The dead and injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK).
Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement has expressed deep concern and regret over the target killing and demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and federal interior minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan to take the notice of incident. MQM alleged that PPP-led Sindh government is backing the terrorists of gang war.
