20 Celebrities Using Twitter For All The Right Reasons

When I first stumbled upon the social rubix cube that is Twitter, the first thing I, and I imagine a lot of others probably did, was to search for some of their favourite celebrities to follow.

Here, I've compiled a list of my all time favourite celebrities/accounts on Twitter, and some of the gems they have offered me.

(Okay so most of them are comedians who get paid for being funny, but idc)

1. Harley Morenstein (@HarleyPlays)

The face and beard of EpicMealTime, who has brought us such classics as...

2. Dillon Francis (@DILLONFRANCIS)

One of my favourite DJs, and also one of my favourite people on the internet. The guys got everything, from his observations of the stupid things about human nature, to his many hilarious personas.

This personal favourite tweet of mine, was also featured on the rather hilarious Twitter page, @DJsComplaining.

3. Mark Hoppus (@MarkHoppus)

i.e. Mark from Blink-182. (But you already knew that)

I couldn't pick just one solitary instance where this guy has made me practically cry into my phone, so here's two of his gems.

4. Jason Cook (@jasonmarkcook)

The brains behind BBC2 sitcom Hebburn, and a stand up comedian from my neck of the woods.

5. Anamanaguchi (@anamanaguchi)

Anamanaguchi tell it like it is.

I'm not sure which member of the band runs their Twitter page, but they're pretty much always saying what everyone's thinking.

6. Josh Peck (@PortableShua)

As in Josh, from Drake and Josh. He's like half the size now and four times the funny.

7. Russell Kane (@russell_kane)

Mostly NSFW, but if you're okay with that, you'll appreciate this.

Try not to misunderstand your wife's request to "treat her and her friend to a facial". #tips

8. Chris Ramsey (@IAmChrisRamsey)

Stand-upn Comedian, star of Hebburn, regularly appears on Celebrity Juice, also from my neck of the woods. The guy got pizza delivered to a moving train. If that's not what the internet is for, then I don't know what is.

9. Greg James (@gregjames)

Now, I follow pretty much all of they daytime presenters on Radio 1, so it was a touch call to pick one, but Greg James' Twitter game absolutely can not be beat. Exhibit A...

10. Rainn Wilson (@rainnwilson)

Rainn Wilson uses Twitter to give his followers a daily dose of "hahaha" and "oooooooh that's bad". This is an example of the latter.

11. The Fat Jew (@FATJEW)

There's little to say about this guy, it's best just to let his tweets speak for themselves.

12. Sarah Millican (@SarahMillican75)

I'm a wee bit ashamed it took until number 12 to add a woman to the list; being a woman myself I feel I should be following more hilarious women on Twitter.

13. Zach Braff (@zachbraff)

If Zach's cheesy one-liners and Scrubs references aren't quite enough for you, maybe his Twitter bromance with pal Donald Faison will do it.

It's GUY LOVE between two guys...

RT @donald_faison I gotta put it in extra hard tomorrow..." If you whisper in my ear while you do it, I should be fine.

- Zach Braff (@zachbraff) September 20, 2012
14. Grimes (@Grimezsz)

Grimes basically says what's in my mind at all times. And what's better, she says it in lower case and without punctuation.

15. Chris D'Elia (@chrisdelia)

I wasn't originally going to add Chris D'Elia to this list, as although he is absolutely hysterical, it's his tone of voice and facial expressions that add to the humour (hence why he is so popular on Instagram and Vine). However, that was all until I saw this tweet.

16. Katherine Ryan (@Kathbum)

I've seen Katherine Ryan on a number of panel shows in the UK, and on a whim decided to follow her on Twitter. CHRIST, is she funny!

17. Whitney Cummings (@WhitneyCummings)

I'm a massive fan of Whitney, (which is probably obvious seeing as I have two of the main stars on this list alone) and I'm desperate for some new episodes to come out. Until then though, Whitney Cummings' Twitter feed is going to get me through.

18. Carl Hutchinson (@CPHutchinson)

Carl Hutchinson is another little known comedian from my local area. On the rise, this guy is fresh off a supporting tour with Chris Ramsey, and is debuting his own show. He's also dynamite on Twitter. This was in reference to 'May the Fourth be with you'.

19. Example (@example)

No words needed.

20. Kill The Noise (@killthenoise)

Last but certainly not least, dub step producer and DJ, Kill The Noise. Because, who doesn't love a good Twitter rant that not only is hilarious, but also makes you think!?

And thus ends our list! Maybe next time I'll put a bit more effort into making it less male and stand-up comedian orientated.
