What's in My Bag: Festival Essentials

What's in my bag: Festival essentialsAs you may already know (as I've not really shut up about it for the past few weeks) I am heading down to Global Gathering this weekend. It'll be my first time attending this festival, and my second weekend festival overall, so this will be my second chance at the festival experience, and I'm determined not to forget anything. I'm a huge fan of my home comforts, but at the same time, I absolutely love camping, so it's important to strike the right balance between the two.

One of the major things that tends to put people off camping festivals is the lack of showers. I've found that as long as you have a week's supply of baby wipes, make up wipes, and face wipes, you can still get by! Similarly, hand sanitiser is an absolute MUST, as you WILL get filthy.

Savlon and my Nivea Soft moisturiser are products I absolutely swear by! Savlon will sort out pretty much any skin irritation, within reason. Another absolute MUST for the festival season.

I've also got a fair amount of lip care products on the list to take this weekend. Nivea's Pearly Shine is absolutely stunning, and works incredibly well as a lipstick substitute if you just feel like slumming it (make up wise) for the weekend. Vaseline also have an incredible range of lip balms that work really well on dry and irritated skin and lips.

Sun cream and after sun are majorly important when attending a festival in July. Even in the UK. I've opted for Nivea Sun (can you see a common thread here?), factor 50+. As an incredibly pale girl, with insanely sensitive skin when it comes to sunlight, I always opt for something with incredibly high protection.

If you have trouble sleeping without complete darkness and silence, like myself, the eye mask and ear plugs are absolutely essential. I love the festival atmosphere, but sometimes you just want to completely switch off and enjoy a nice nap! Blocking out the lights and sounds of surrounding groups of people can do wonders for a night's sleep.

Finally, dry shampoo is the absolute creme de la creme of the festival beauty essentials. At Leeds festival last year, I washed my hair on the Thursday morning before the drive down, and didn't end up washing it again until the Monday evening when I got home. As someone who gets greasy hair after 12 hours of not washing my hair, dry shampoo was my saviour that weekend.

Other essentials include: toothpaste, toilet roll, hair clips and bobbles, hairspray, deodorant, and plasters.
