2 killed, 14 injured in high-intensity blast outside Rangers headquarters in Karachi
At least two Rangers personnel was killed and 13 others injured in Karachi early on Thursday morning when a high intensity bomb exploded outside Rangers Headquarters 2 North Nazimabad Block B area of the metropolis.
According to the injured rangers personnel, a suicide bomber hit the explosive-laden Shehzore truck hit to the gate of headquarters. Several walls of the headquarters also collapsed due to the blast, which was heard in different areas of the city.
The explosion sparked a whopping blaze inside the building and the black clouds of smoke are hanging over the sky. The fire fighters are attempting to extinguish the fire.
The rescue teams and ambulances rushed to the affected area and launched the relief activities. The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Four injured are said to be in critical condition and death toll is feared to climb.
Security forces cordoned off the area immediate while a probe was underway. The initial reports said at least 100 kilograms of explosives were used in the blast.
No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack so far.
