Siamo felici di annunciare la pubblicazione di un progetto al quale abbiamo lavorato molto negli ultimi mesi e che finalmente verrà presentato al pubblico in anteprima il 17 maggio a Modena, all’interno della rassegna “I Giardini del Gusto e delle Arti”, organizzato da “Piacere Modena”.
Tavole d’autore - 14 stylist italiani, 14 modi di ricevere è una riflessione sull’arte del ricevere, un’ istantanea della tendenza attuale del gusto della tavola italiana.
“I libri su questo argomento sono stati prodotti in Francia, in Inghilterra, in Australia in chiave abbastanza tradizionale, mentre la produzione libraria italiana offre poco di originale sull’argomento.
Attingendo alla mia trentennale esperienza nel mondo della fotografia e alle tante persone conosciute in questi anni, ho coinvolto un gruppo di stylist, professionisti con cui moltissime volte ho lavorato nell’arco del tempo, per produrre con loro qualcosa di diverso.
Il lavoro degli stylist, spesso poco conosciuto, a volte sottovalutato, consiste nello studiare, con il fotografo, lo stile delle immagini da realizzare. Procurano gli oggetti giusti, studiano i colori adeguati e ricreano atmosfere cercando location o ricostruendo ambienti, con un gusto che diventa la loro cifra stilistica. Sono un po’ interior designer, un po’ art director, un po’ scenografi, un po’ arredatori. Fanno un lavoro fondamentale per i fotografi che, come me, ricevono l’incarico di creare le immagini. E chi meglio di loro poteva restituire uno sguardo moderno e unico sullo stile della tavola, con il polso sulla tendenza, con suggerimenti da dare e idee da copiare?
L’entusiasmo con cui tutti i 14 stylist hanno aderito e lavorato a questo progetto è stato per me molto coinvolgente e lusinghiero per la fiducia e la stima accordatami. Un lavoro dove ognuno di loro ha potuto esprimersi liberamente e dove io ho fatto da raccordo fotografico e uniformità di mano.
Ringrazio, oltre all’editore Bibliotheca Culinaria, Olivier Maupas che ha messo in pagina il mio lavoro, Anna Bogoni che ha scritto bellissime parole su di me e Laura Forti che le mie parole ha supervisto. We are happy to annouce that a project for which we have been working hard in the past months has finally seen the light and is going to be officially presented on May the 17th in Modena, during the event “I Giardini del Gusto e delle Arti”, hosted by “Piacere Modena”.
Tavole d’autore - 14 stylist italiani, 14 modi di ricevere is a reflection about the art of entertaining, a snapshot of the current trends of the italian table style.
“Books on this topic have been produced in France, UK and Australia, in a slightly traditional way, whereas the italian publishing production offers very little about this subject.
Thanks to my thirty-year experience in the photography field, and the many people I had the chance to meet, I got a group of stylist involved, several professionals I worked with many times in these past years, and I asked them to work with me to produce something new.
The stylists’ work, often quite unknown, and sometimes underrated, consists in studying, alongside with the photographer, the style of the images to create. They get the right props, they find the adequate colors, and they recreate atmospheres finding the right location or building settings, according to a certain taste,which becomes their signature style. They are a bit interior designers, a bit art-directors, a bit set designers, a bit decorators. They do a fundamental job for the photographers who, like me, get the assignment of creating images. And who better than them could give a contemporary and unique vision of the table style, with the strength of trends, and with suggestions and ideas to spread?
The enthusiasm all the 14 stylists have shared while working on this project has been very inspirational and gratifying for me, for the trust and esteem they shown me. A work in which every and each of them had the chance to express herself or himself freely and I guaranteed, through photography, the unity and conjunction between their works.
I am thankful to the publisher, Bibliotheca Culinaria, the graphic designer Olivier Maupas who created the layout for this work, Anna Bogoni who wrote beautiful and amazing things about me in her introduction to the book, and Laura Forti who supervised and edited my words. Last but not least all the stylists, whose names you can read on the cover, to whom I am deeply thankful for how the shootings turned out and for the privilege to work together.”
