Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi Oi!
It's the time of year when tennis gets back into the swing of things with the first of the slams, the Australian Open. Sadly, unlike other slams like the US Open which has it's own signature cocktail (the Honey Deuce), the Australian Open does not... I know, right?!
Thankfully, the clever peeps at The Drink Blog did their homework, and found that the Illusion Shaker was a big deal in Australia in the 80's, and so they decided to bring it back, just for the Aussie Open!
It's a neon green shot with a sweet, golden yellow garnish that's as much fun to make as it is to drink!
Here's the super simple recipe:

Since the Australian Open doesn't have it's own signature cocktail, the peeps at The Drink Blog created one - and it's delish!
Directions
1Add everything (I don't need to list them all out for you, do I?) to your shaker.
2Add some ice.
3Shake.
4Pour into your shot glass (or glasses -- double or triple up for that).
5Garnish with pineapple wedges.
6Celebrate the Australian Open.

4.5 USTA rated/open champion level tennis player, pescatarian, fitness freak, animal lover, and smart ass who firmly believes that champagne is anathema for all ills. Right now I'm either up to my eyeballs in paint swatches and fabric samples, or kicking some butt on a tennis court (hopefully the latter).
