By Saumya Shiohare @myriadmusings1

With the much-anticipated Memorial day being just around the corner, vacationing tops everyone's wishlist. While traveling might be fun, the check-in bag fee is not and there is no hope for it going down anytime. So with just one carry-on bag option, how much to pack becomes an underlying dilemma? Well, not to worry: with one carry-on bag and ten essentials, not only would you be prepared for your weekend trip but also surprise everyone with all the endless outfit combinations you packed in one little suitcase.
TEN ESSENTIALS TO PACK FOR A WEEKEND TRIP
So let's decode those packing essentials :
Black tee- Think of it as a suitcase staple. It can be worn day to night, casually or dressed-up, options are ceaseless. Get a plain one or one with little detailing, you'll never go wrong.
White dress- Memorial Day is here, which means wearing white would become sartorially official. LBD (little black dress) is popular, but a LWD ( little white dress ) is what you need now. Bring one with some feminine details, wear it with your denim jacket for a day activity, or as is for a night out. and also with the printed kimono for more outfit options.
Floppy hat- No time to indulge in your hair during the trip???- no problem, Dr. Hat is here to the rescue. Hats get a special persona every summer and this season it's all about the wide brim,  ribbon  tie-ups and graphic details. Wear it with your dress, or even with the casual denim look, you'll never go wrong with it and all your bad hair woes will disappear in a wink.
10 ESSENTIALS YOU NEED TO PACK FOR YOUR WEEKEND TRIP
Printed kimono jacket- A kimono jacket AKA a lightweight duster coat could be your BFF during a weekend getaway. And if it's printed and in a pastel shade, then there is no looking back. A fun print could elevate any look, without much effort- pair with your denim or throw over the dress, it will come in really handy.
Woven tote- A weekend bag need not be a classic leather one as your weekday work bag. A little charm here, a little texture there and a whole lot of casual-vibe is what you should be seeking in your weekender. A tote is the right size that can be used as another carry-on with and also for other items you might need during the trip.
Neutral wedges- A pair of espadrille wedges would be so chic. It is comfy, classy and a neutral that would pair up well with almost any outfit. I would wear mine during the day with that off-the-shoulder dress and a cool pair of sunglasses.  Denim Jacket- A must-have in any closet should definitely be a must-have in your vacation baggage too. Considered a neutral, a denim jacket is versatile, easy to dress up or dress down and always a no-brainer.  Wear it over the black tee and denim or over your dresses, there will be an options galore.
Little red dress- Everybody packs a LBD, but your vacation is supposed to be a happy getaway, so  why not switch your dark black game and instead overload a color. A red dress as is would be perfect during the day and with the denim jacket or the kimono at night.
Boyfriend jeans- Go boyfriend or go home... Bring your boyfriend jeans to the trip instead of the skinny ones. Boyfriend jeans have a lot more character and give that edgy vibe when worn with the plain  black tee, floppy hat and wedges. For a more pulled together look, throw on your kimono coat and rock any night away.
Tassels- Tassels are a rage this season and any trip would be fashionably lame without sporting one. Not a lot but a little tassel action would be ideal. For the day your woven tote could hold your stuff, but when stepping out at night for a drink, your phone and a credit card is all that needs to tag along and this phone case is just what you need. Bonus- it has the side sling too.
Brown flat sandals - A plain flat sandal would be nice, but when there are so many fancy options available, why settle for the least ???  Lace tie-up, caged, woven straps, gladiator, with so many options to choose from, go for the one that instantly ups the glam quotient of any look.
These are just a few of my vacation essentials other than the basics that can't be left behind. So when packing the basics, use the gaps at the bottom of the suitcase, thrush some of em in your sandals and also between rolled up clothing. This will give you ample space to bring in all you need.
Do you have any travel essentials that you like to bring with you, each time you go on a trip???
Thanks for stopping by loves!!!
