Yesteryear Wrestler and Actor Dara Singh Hospitalized

Commonwealth Wrestling Champion turned Veteran actor Dara Singh was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital on Saturday evening after suffering a cardiac arrest. He is into ventilator and is in a critical state.

The executive director of the Kokilaben hospital, Dr. Ram Narain said that Mr. Dara Singh was on a high-dose medication in an effort to revive his blood pressure.

Dara Singh’s full name Dara Singh Randhawa of 83 years old has won over 500 professional fights to his credit. He has acted in over 100 films in Hindi and Punjabi language and is known as the Action King of Bollywood of 1960 – 70s. The actor was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s film Jab We Met and is known for playing the character of Lord Hanuman in Ramanand Sagar’s television series Ramayan.

Speaking to the media, the actor’s son Vindoo Dara Singh said: “Daddy has been suffering from a nerve related disorder that has gradually made him rather weak over the years. Today, he suffered a stroke or a clot and is now critical. He will be kept under observation for at least 24 hours.”
