The Keto Diet: “I Loved It”

By Dietdoctor @DietDoctor1

Over people have signed up for our free two-week keto low-carb challenge. You'll get free guidance, meal plans, recipes, shopping lists and troubleshooting tips - everything you need to succeed on a keto diet.

Here are new fantastic stories from the people who've taken the challenge:

My husband and I took the challenge together. He is 69 and I am 62. Our goals were to lose weight and see better blood-sugar numbers.

We enjoyed the food (although we missed carbs the first week). I still work, so my sweet husband did all the cooking. We loved the emails with the menus!

Around the second week, we started seeing great blood-sugar numbers. Not much on the weight-loss front - I only lost 2 pounds (1 kg) the first week and my husband didn't lose any.

Thank you,
Cathy

I loved it; in fact, my wife joined me in the challenge, and her mother (who is staying with us) - we all lost weight!

Good Morning,

I loved it; in fact, my wife joined me in the challenge, and her mother (who is staying with us) - we all lost weight! The weekly meal planning tool was by far the most valuable piece for us; it allowed us to put the whole plan in front of us. Your website is extremely easy to navigate, and the meal images don't do some of the recipes justice (even though they look incredible).

My only comment: it's almost impossible to 'cut out' sugar completely; I know it's a two-week challenge, but some of your dessert recipes appear to have low carbs - you might consider building 'rewards' in, perhaps at the halfway and completion dates? We didn't cheat, but we really wanted to!

We've signed up for a membership; I will be grateful for all the meal-planning recipes on your site.

Thanks again!
David

Well, I have completed this 2-week challenge with some success. I have lost a total of 8 lbs (4 kg), but better than this, I am feeling much better health wise than I did prior to starting the diet. My brain fog that I had before seems to have gone and I am more energetic, now I don't know if that is phycological or not but the diet it self was easy to follow and the food was great and tasty.

I have managed to get myself off milk as I know I had a milk addiction and I am hoping that I can keep it up. Also I feel much happier and in a better mood overall I also hope that this stays with me too.

I am a pensioner and I am unable to join the membership but will continue to follow this keto diet using the tools that Diet Doctor has given me. A great big thank you from me.

Kind regards,
Dorothy

My husband and I followed the challenge together. It was very easy to shop and prepare. A revelation to realize that I could serve leftovers, even for a pack-up lunch - so much easier than other diets.

Because we weren't hungry, we ended up skipping breakfast instead (something which I know you advocate if weight loss is slow).

Having been used to muesli, he wasn't keen on the eggs for breakfast. Because we weren't hungry we ended up skipping breakfast instead (something which I know you advocate if weight loss is slow). I was just within my normal body mass index before I started but I wanted to shed some 'mid-life' inches.

I was disappointed not to lose any weight, but I lost two inches (5 cm) off my waist. My blood sugar also dropped from borderline pre-diabetic to normal range, so mission accomplished.

Thank you!
Cath

It really helped me, I do plan on continuing with the keto diet. I like to meal plan so trying my own recipes for now.

Thank you for the great source!
Linda

I thought the challenge was great! The food was delicious.

I thought the challenge was great! The food was delicious. The first week I lost 6 lbs (3 kg) but gained 2 lbs (1 kg) back the second week. Not sure why but plan to continue on the program. My goal is to lose 30 lbs (14 kg) and at 55 seems to be quite the challenge!

Thank you!
Jayne

I think the dietdoctor.com is a great website for those learning about the keto way of eating for many reasons. The information is given simply. You have creditable professionals involved in your program.

I used the principles of eating in the challenge but did not follow the meal plans exactly.

The videos are very helpful. I find it much easier to learn by video instruction and pictures than I do by just reading about a subject.

Regards,
Marcia
