The Best Free Meditations out There

Meditating on Daily Inspiration Board

I am currently meditating twice a day for 10 minutes in the morning, and 10 minutes in the evening. It seems like a short amount of time but in fact, it requires a lot of discipline to even stick to that amount. Once you get into it, though, it starts to become an essential and really beautiful part of the day.

As we all know, the benefits are huge. In fact, I did a trial where I stopped for a few days and things felt different. Life felt harsher, and not as light. I was more prone to letting worries overtake my thoughts. I find that meditation helps you to step back away from your incessant thinking. It has heaps of other benefits, too – check out my post here about some of the proven ways it can help your mind and spirit.

It’s also a great reprieve from a technologically-overblown world where we’re connected to our devices 24/7 (we love it, but it’s not really that great for us because when do we switch our minds off?).

With this in mind, I’ve been trying out various guided meditations. I prefer these to just sitting in silence or listening to meditation music, because I find they provide additional educational and spiritual benefits. Plus, they help you to focus.

Some of the most beautiful meditations I’ve come across recently are from Claire Obeid’s The Wellness Project. Claire is a Sydney-based health coach who recently launched The 21 Day Meditation Project where she is sharing 21 guided meditations from top people in the industry – for free.

If you’re new to meditation, it’s a great way to get started. They’re around 10 minutes each and can be listened to via SoundCloud from any internet-connected device.

The meditations vary and each has a different focus, so you can pick and choose which you want to listen to, but they all focus on inner balance, peace and emotional healing.

Do you meditate? What have you found are some of the benefits?
