Seventeen Weeks

Seventeen Weeks
How far along? Seventeen weeks and six days

Baby's size? Baby girl is the size of a pomegranate this week. My pregnancy app says she should weigh 4.9 ounces this week but my midwife told me last week that she was 6 ounces. Already seems like she's taking after her mommy.

Baby's nickname? Baby and baby girl. We still use her name occasionally as well.

Maternity clothes? Yes! My mother-in-law took me shopping this weekend for my Christmas gifts. She bought me two pairs of maternity jeans, two pairs of maternity leggings and two maternity tops. I also bought an additional pair of maternity pants {that my husband picked out} and an additional maternity top. It's so nice to have options now! And maternity jeans are amazing! It was my first time putting any on. I fell in love immediately. Exercise? I cancelled my workout with my trainer this week because I wasn't feeling well. The only exercise I've gotten in is walking.

Sleep: We've been going to sleep around 9 or 10 and then I wake up several times in the night to use the restroom, of course. But this week I've been having a hard time falling back to sleep. Usually around 1am. I've been having very vivid dreams as well and sometimes those wake me up and then once I'm awake I get up to use the restroom because I might as well. I am feeling more tired in the mornings and not getting out of bed until close to 7, which is very unlike me. I think it's because I'm not getting a good enough nights sleep. This may be how it is from here on out and I need to get used to it.

Best moment this week: Probably getting new maternity clothes. They've given me my confidence back.

Miss anything? I miss being able to walk and stand for long periods of time without my body aching.

Movement: Still not as much movement as two weeks ago but I do still feel her move a bit when I lay down to go to sleep.

Food cravings: I don't remember craving anything this week. I finally had a soft pretzel from Wetzel's and it was everything I'd imagined it would be. Soft pretzels with cheese or cream cheese have been my only consistent craving.

Anything making you queasy or sick: This week was actually a good week! I didn't get sick at all. I try to avoid all trigger foods. I went to an event this week and they had pepperoni pizza. It looked so good but I did not eat any because I knew I would regret it within a few minutes.

Gender: GIRL!

Symptoms: Terrible acne! The worst so far. I'm getting really painful cysts on my chin and just as one starts to calm down two more appear. I absolutely hate it. I've read it's completely normal and I just have to let it take it's course. There's not much I can do when pregnant. Medication and cortisone shots are out of the question. I ordered some frankincense oil to hopefully help with the scarring. I've also had lower back pain almost every night. Two nights ago, I was ironing a shirt for Stephen and I couldn't even finish because I was in so much pain. I had to lay down. I've been falling asleep with my heating pad on my back almost every night.
Wedding rings on or off? Still on
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: Same as last week. Hopefully seeing some improvement in my acne. I'm also getting excited for Christmas!
