Pretty impressive! Here’s an update from Sophie, who shared the beginning of her success story eating LCHF a year ago.

That, it turns out, was just the beginning. Here’s her whole life-altering story:

The Email

Hi Andreas,

I just wanted to say I LOVE your blog! I have been following it since I discovered it mid October 2013. I want to share my story and my rockstar progress.

I started low carb on August 16, 2013. It was with a weight-loss clinic that believed in low-carb low-fat and processed low-carb snacks. I did that for 2 months and my meals were tasteless and bland. I wanted to learn more about low carbing, and found your website. I couldn’t believe that eating full fat instead of low-fat/ fat-free would make me thinner.

I decided for 1 month to just eat high fat such as butter, olive oil, sour cream, mayo, skin on meat instead of the skinless meat and canola oil and margarine I had been eating for 2 months. My meals tasted heavenly. I was also eating protein and vegetables at that time, the only difference was the type of fat I had switched to. I went to the weight-loss clinic one last time, (following the Diet Doctor guide of what to eat) and had a 10 pound (4 kg) weight loss! I never went back to the weight-loss clinic again and have been eating low-carb high-fat every since then.

Since I started to lose weight, I have become a chef in my personal kitchen (my house). I spend a lot of time in my kitchen and now see the joys of cooking. Food is my passion and low-carb meals taste fantastic! I never knew dieting could be so tasty.

I also enjoy shopping, which is my favorite activity. I did not like this when I was obese because it was difficult to find stylish clothes that fit. I used to have a hard time finding anything that looked good on me! My family used to hate shopping with me because I used to always complain about my weight and how nothing looked good on me. Now I never say that anymore because things DO look good on me and I can find clothes that fit. I reward myself with new clothes each time I lose weight.

My health has improved remarkably. I am no longer borderline diabetic, I do not have sleep apnea anymore, I do not have a super-high pulse rate anymore. I do not have high blood preassure anymore. I don’t have bad allergies anymore, was affected by allergies only three days last summer instead of every day.

When people ask me how I did this, I suggest the Diet Doctor blog and tell them to put their trust in Andreas because that is exactly what I did. I am happy with the results and I am looking forward to getting to my goal soon. I never dreamed that I would lose so much weight. I have lost 53 pounds (24 kg) so far.
