Emmy Wish List: Best Drama Series

Posted on the 10 June 2013 by Sirmac2 @macthemovieguy

1) HOUSE OF CARDS

Not only was House of Cards a terrific series, it was able to do it on its own terms, changing forever the way we look and think of “TV” programming. What a breakthrough it would be for Netflix to have its flagship series nominated.

2) THE NEWSROOM

A polarizing candidate, but its whip smart dialog and current agenda left me aching for more in the months where I’ve been left without new episodes. That’s really the key ingredient in determining any shows success… how badly do you miss it when its gone?

3) SCANDAL

The Emmy’s have moved away from recognizing any broadcast TV shows, but Scandal demands to be recognize for transforming itself into one of the “must see TV” experiences of the season. The show actually went up in the ratings, and continued to climb throughout the season. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for Season 3.

4) SONS OF ANARCHY

The Emmy’s refusal to nominate this show, or the fantastic leading lady Katey Sagal, baffles me. The fact that I have to put this on my “wish list” is insane. The nomination should be a foregone conclusion, instead, we have to beg Emmy voters to take notice.

5) THE WALKING DEAD

Just like Sons of Anarchy, the Emmy voters have been ignoring the work of the actors of The Walking Dead, and the show itself. With Walking Dead becoming more and more popular, it seems only a matter of time before it cracks a nomination in a major category. Perhaps this season for star Andrew Lincoln?

Who would you vote for? So many great choices:
