Beer Review – New Holland Dragon’s Milk Reserve Orange Chocolate Stout

Here we go again! Yet another Dragon's Milk expression from the fine folks at New Holland Brewing Company. This time around, the subject of our review is their Reserve Orange Chocolate Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout. Here's what they have to say about it:

The original Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout blended with the richness of real cocoa and natural orange peel. A stout with roasty malt character intermingled with deep vanilla tones, all dancing in an oak bath.

When we were first approached about this beer, we immediately thought about that chocolate orange confection that was orange shaped and wrapped in foil which you then had to whack on your countertop in order to break it into bite sized pieces. Those treats look exactly like this:

Did this latest Dragon's Milk expression taste anything like a Terry's Chocolate Orange?

Did we like it as much as the standard issue Dragon's Milk or the Reserve Banana Coconut?

What would we pair with this beer?

Would we drink it again?

To get the answers to these questions, and to see and hear all that we had to say about this beer, go ahead and click the play button...
