Common Cider Company Modern Hard Cider Review

On today's episode of A Tasting at The Murder Table, we're headed to Auburn, California for a review of not one, not two, but THREE hard ciders from Common Cider Company ...

Founded in 2021 by Fran Toves, Common Cider Company specializes in "ciders painstakingly designed to pair beautifully with food while moving people to find common ground and celebrate the simple act of being human" (their words, not ours. Hence the quotation marks).

Here's what we'll be sampling:

  • Blood Orange Tangerine: This is what joy tastes like. One of our most popular varieties, with just enough juice to capture the essence of citrusy fruit flavor, but not so much that it turns this blend red. We are 100% dedicated to the authenticity of our ingredients, which means no artificial flavors or colors added.
  • Pineapple Guava: An artfully effervescent hard apple cider heightened with tropical pineapple and guava to celebrate the warmth of social festivity. Our Hawaii-inspired pineapple guava hard cider actually started out as a seasonal in 2017 but response was so strong that we have made it one of our year round products. It's bright, fruity and off-dry; perfect with light food dishes or just by itself, with a few friends of course.
  • Hibiscus Saison: Get ready to smile. Get ready to talk and laugh and be human for a change. Let this artfully brewed, effervescent hard apple cider with witty hints of Hibiscus be your starting point. Brings out the uncommon best in any food. Brings out the magic in any gathering.

With all of those lofty words and descriptors, one would hope that these ciders will send our taste buds into a tail spin. To find out if that happened, click the play button on the following video:
