Zipper Nail Art

By Thedaydreamer @TheDaydreamer00
I had to learn last weekend and yesterday for a very big history test, so I wasn't able to write something on my blog ):. To make it up to you, I'm posting my nail art, with steps if you like to make them yourself. First I'll give you the result:
Zipper Nail Art
Now how I did it:
First apply a base coat to protect your nails. Then apply a base color on your nails. I used the Catrice #400 Blue Cara Ciao, which is a very nice deep blue color.

Then use a different color and make some sort of letter V on your nails. I used the Catrice #540 Am I Blue Or Green?. It's a very light blue color (yes, I think it's blue xd). Fill in the nail on the outside of the V with the same color. Try to make different V's on every nail, very big to very small. The nail on my little finger is very small, because it broke three days ago. I just didn't make a V on that nail, because that would be very hard for the next steps... it would become very messy. I just made that nail the light blue color.

Now use another different color to accentuate the line of the V. I used the Essence Tip Painter White, which makes very small lines. If you don't have a tip painter, just use a hair clip. Connect the bottom of the V to the beginning of your nail with a little stripe. It's very hard to explain it, so I hope the pictures will make it clearer to understand ;). On the nail of my little finger I made just one stripe from the bottom to the top.

And the last step: Make the connecting stripe more detailed by making very small crosses. I only did that to the connecting stripe, because I thought it would become very messy if I also did them on the V's. Now make a little zipper-thing (I have really no idea what it's called xd) on the bottom of the V's. I used the tip painter again. See the picture on the top for more information ;).
Now you're done! Like it? I think it could be better without the little crosses to make more detail...Please comment and tell me what you think! (And if you know what the zipper-thing is called, please tell me! I really want to know!)
xx
