Yvette Nicole Brown’s Responds to a Deadline article

Yvette Nicole Brown was not seeing it for the awful Deadline article named “Pilots 2015: The Year Of Ethnic Castings – About Time Or Too Much Of Good Thing?” See what she had to say below.

I'm just gonna set this down right here. #FeelFreeToDiscuss http://t.co/Suz5XQzdm7

Horrible Deadline article, you've left me no choice. I must go FULL FACEPALM, from ALL of Star Trek! Happy now??! pic.twitter.com/HC3FEY5CTW

The article annoyed me because POC have been largely excluded from lead roles on TV for DECADES. But exclusion due to race is NOW a problem?

Full. Face. Palm.

Fun fact: what you're paid as a TV actor is determined by your pilot bookings. That's your quote. Book less pilots? Lower pay per week…

The joke amongst POC is that our pilot season doesn't even START until April, when all the other lead roles have been filled.

And back to pay, that pilot bookings/quote thing is how a POC with years of experience is paid less than a brand new non-ethnic actor.

No bitterness or shade, just trying to educate you guys on how things have been. I'm grateful it's finally changing. #ThatToneDeafArticleTho
