YouTube’s New 8K Video Will (Probably) Break Your Computer

Posted on the 11 June 2015 by Nrjperera @nrjperera

According to 9to5Google, the 8K function was added to YouTube earlier this year and this “Ghost Towns” video is the first 8K video to hit the web. Neumann Films has shot this video of an abandones mining field with a RED Epic Dragon 6K camera.

8K videos form total image dimensions of 7680×4320. (Wikipedia)

Hit that gear icon and crank-up the quality to 4320p, we dare you! Oh, by the way, the video will only work with the latest Chrome and Safari. Also keep an eye out for your bandwidth limits. You can still watch the video in a lower quality, if you’re curious.
