Your Obamacare Healthplan Won’t Cover You If You Travel Or Move to Another State

Here’s another thing wrong with President Lucifer’s signature achievement — Obamacare.

If you actually succeeded in getting on an Obamacare exchange and purchased a new health insurance without the website crashing on you, you should know that if you travel or move to another state, your health plan won’t be traveling with you. If you find yourself needing medical treatment, your new health insurance will NOT cover it.

An Investor’s Business Daily editorial of Dec. 18, 2013 explains that within the ObamaCare exchanges so many Americans are being forced into, most plans only provide local medical coverage.

A prominent New York insurance broker points out that most of the policies offered on the ObamaCare exchanges are not national networks, so “if you need routine medical services, they will not be covered when you leave your local area,” as they were before.

Getting travel health insurance isn’t really a solution because they only cover emergencies.

American Thinker‘s Stella Paul interviewed one Connecticut retiree whose health required having a winter home in South Carolina. The woman’s $450-per-month, $2,500 deductible, no co-pay Blue Cross policy that had worked well in both states was suddenly canceled. The new policy she was offered under ObamaCare was twice as expensive, with a deductible costing $1,000 more, and no out-of-network coverage. She told Paul her new policy costs $900 a month. “with a $7,000 deductible and a co-pay on everything. Basically, it’s catastrophic insurance, and I’ll be paying my South Carolina doctors out of pocket.”

Imagine having to take all this into account in making decisions about where in America you want to live. Paul warns this will have “a profound impact on the real-estate market, particularly the second home sector, and on the travel business.” She asks, “With Americans no longer able to receive routine medical services when they travel, will they start showing up in emergency rooms for sore throats and backaches? And how will these new throngs of patients affect the waiting time of people with genuine medical emergencies?”

Unrestricted movement is a birthright of our liberty. Even socialized medicine’s harshest opponents didn’t suspect Washington would trample that freedom.

A recent CNN poll found that 62% of Americans now oppose Obamacare; only 35% are in favor. Most Americans also predict their medical care costs will increase under the ironically-titled “Affordable Care Act”. Even the POS’s mindless female supporters are getting disenchanted. Opposition to Obamacare among women increased 6%, from 54% in November to 60% now, while opinion of the new law remained virtually unchanged among men. CNN poll’s director Keating Holland said “That’s bad news for an administration that is reaching out to moms across the country in an effort to make Obamacare a success.”

So why hasn’t this atrocious piece of legislation been repealed?
