Jane Lynch’s ex-wife seeks spousal support despite the actress’ attempt to avoid payments

Daily Mail: Though Jane Lynch’s split from estranged wife Lara Embry has gone relatively smoothly, not all the loose ends have been secured: Lara still wants spousal support.

The Glee star announced in July she was legally ending her three-year-marriage to the clinical psychologist, whom she  split from in February.

Lara has now filed documents in Los Angeles Superior Court asking for her attorney fees to be paid by Jane, as well as spousal support – which Jane doesn’t seem to want to give.

The 53-year-old actress previously sought to terminate the court’s jurisdiction to award spousal support to her ex-wife, according to People.

Jane was also the one to file the divorce documents on July 12, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the  split.

But the pair have thus far acted rational about the ordeal, and Jane recently insisted their divorce was ‘not a horrible’ thing. ‘It’s not dramatic. It’s not a horrible thing. It’s something that we’re dealing with,’ Jane told Larry King Live in July.  ‘It’s two people who just decided it’s better to go apart than stay together.’

The former couple are determined to maintain  an amicable relationship for Lara’s daughter, Haden. ‘All’s good. We have a little girl – she has a little girl who’s very dear to me,’ Jane added. ‘She’s 10, and she’s doing  great.

‘We have to remain adults, which we have. We  keep everybody’s – especially Haden’s – good in our mind.’

The pair had got engaged in 2010 and married on Memorial Day the same year in an intimate ceremony in Sunderland,  Massachusetts.
