You Know What I Think?

By Lindsayleighbentley @lindsayLbentley

I think people are tired of being sick.

I think people are tired of being told that the only way to cure a disease is with a pill.

I think people are tired of being told that food doesn't have that much impact on their overall health.

I think people are tired of taking a drug to deal with the side effects of the other drug, which deals with the side effects of the first drug, which was prescribed to alleviate the symptoms of a lifestyle-preventable disease.

I think people are tired of their food system being controlled by the same people who create some of the most toxic chemicals on the planet.

I think people are tired of the FDA being run by the former VP of Monsanto, the leading producer of genetically engineered (GE) seed and of the herbicide glyphosate (Roundup).

I think people are tired of being told that new medicines and ways of practicing healthcare, that have been around for less than 100 years, are the best and only intelligent way to treat disease.

I think people are tired of racing for cures, while our cancer rates continue to grow at astronomical rates.

I think people are tired of being told that their children's terrifying and life-altering reactions to vaccines are "all in their head."

I think people are tired of spending more money than any other country on managing illnesses, all the while we remain not even close to the top of the "healthiest" list.

I think people are tired of having sick kids.

I think people are tired of having drugged-up kids.

I think people are tired of being told "there's no cure for that" when what they are really being told is "there's no drug that generates a profit for me that treats those symptoms".

I think people are tired of being assured that a drug is safe, only to later discover that they were the guinea pig for that drug.

I think people are tired of pharmaceuticals killing over 100,000 people every year in the USA.

I think people are tired of Doctors choosing to prescribe a drug because it's the one that a chick in a tight skirt driving a BMW sold to them over cocktails and sushi.

I think people are tired of being told that their limitations in choosing treatment for illness is "for their protection" and "the good of the people."

I think people are tired of their illnesses being managed by people who profit from the management of illness. Because healthy people and dead people aren't very profitable, now are they?

I think people are tired of being told that a drug has been "proven safe" when it flat out has not been.

I think people are tired of hearing that herbs, essential oils and natural remedies that have been used safely and successfully for thousands of years are "quackery."

If you need a break from my rant, here's my dog. I think he's tired too. But that's just because he's old.
you know what I think?

I am tired of not being able to share a personal testimony of how an essential oil has cured, prevented, or treated a disease (or even something as simple as a scar fading) simply because the FDA will not allow me to. The ONLY things the FDA allows to claim to treat, prevent, or cure are FDA approved drugs. That means that if I tell you that Thieves killed a cold sore on my lip in 24 hours, I am making a health or disease claim using an illegal drug.

Yep. Here I am. Mother of three. Pushing my illegal drugs on you. So why these restrictions? Because essential oils are threatening to the Pharmaceutical industry. Because they freaking work. And the FDA and the Pharmaceutical industry spend as much time in bed together as newlyweds.

You know what I think? I think freedom of speech is the secret, aborted love-child of the FDA & the Pharmaceutical industry.

You may think I'm mad. And I am, But I'm also really hopeful. We are already beginning to see it: Like this research being done to explore the use of Frankincense for fighting Cancer. Hospitals are beginning to use natural remedies and alternative medicine. This Vascular Surgeon who has quit using statins (cholesterol reducing drugs) altogether, and is instead using diet to prevent heart disease. Like my dad, who lowered his high blood pressure with cayenne pepper.

Because tired and mad people are often the ones who bring about change.

There are many, many more stories beginning to circulate - feel free to share them in the comments section! I'm just staring down a kitchen full of dishes and a bed that has been sorely neglected these past 3 days and I've not the energy to do any more research tonight!

But I'm encouraged. I believe we can become a nation of healthy, vibrant people who live long lives with sharp minds, not dependent on drugs for daily function. Our children are being raised by US. And WE are a generation of people who are questioning the norm, who aren't satisfied with "because I said so," who have seen our parents and grandparents live with chronic illness. We are tired of it. And that gives me hope for the future.

you know what I think?

live well. be well.
