Steam is the source of all PC games. This is what most PC gamers believe, but the truth is you will never find some of the greatest games on the most popular digital game store. You can’t really blame Steam for that because some game publishers like to keep their games to themselves like EA and Blizzard.
Just remember, there is a whole lot of greatness beyond Steam. And here are some of those worthwhile games you may have missed.
NFS: Most Wanted
The best casual racing game I’ve ever played. Many sequels came after this Need for Speed title, but none of them could be compared to this one. The story, gameplay, graphics, everything was simply perfect about this game. For some reason, EA has released most of their NFS games on Steam, except for Most Wanted.
ManHunt 2
This brutally gruesome game was banned in many countries, including the UK, Australia, due to its level of violence. You’re gonna need a strong state of mind to go through this game. But, it will be worth it. ManHunt 1 can be found on Steam, but I guess the sequel was too violent to be included online.
Diablo III
Probably the greatest action role-playing game on PC. Believe it or not, this one gamer died playing this game.
Starcraft II
This RTS was awarded “Best PC Game” at VGX in 2010. Researchers have even found this great game to help gamers make better decisions in real-life.
World of Warcraft
No introduction required for this MMO series.
The Chronicles of Riddick
Escape from Butcher and Assault on Dark Athena are both impressive action-packed games, which are not available on Steam at the moment. Ratings were low for this game. But believe me, playing as Vin Diesel and kicking some ass is the best fun you can ever have.
Wanted: Weapons of Fate
Curving bullets may have looked ridiculous in the movie, but the video game of the film makes it pretty damn awesome. This game also includes story details about the history before the events of Wanted.
Eragon
I’ve actually played Eragon, the video game for the 2006 sci-fi film over 3 times and it never gets old. Paired with a controller this action role-playing game can be really fun.
Commandos: Strike Force
The fifth installment of the Eidos’ hit Commandos series took a different turn. It was a FPS with some awesome gameplay features like changing between characters, disguises and much more. As a fan of the original series, I was a little disappointed but overall the game was not bad.
FIFA 15
FIFA is a can’t miss game, when it comes to sports video games. Sadly, you can’t find any game from FIFA series on Steam.
Did I miss something? Let me know in the comments.
