You Can't Be Everything to Everyone (and That's Okay)

By Jessicavenoy @lovelyjesscuh
Hello my sweet friends! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas :) I really enjoyed spending so much time with my family - the older I get, the more important that becomes to me. The last few weeks of hustle and bustle (both being in it and observing others in it) has made me realize that we are not meant to be everything to everyone (yes, that includes you mommas).
You Can't Be Everything to Everyone (and that's okay)A lot of women, myself included, feel the need to be everything to everyone ALL the time. While that's good in theory, it's not realistic OR attainable. And let's be real - it leaves you feeling inadequate, dried up, and just plain exhausted.
It's so important to spend time reflecting on your heart, recognizing what your strengths are. Are you great at organizing get togethers? Do you slay in the kitchen? Are you awesome at all things crafty? Focus your energy on doing what you're good at and don't be afraid to ask for help in areas that might not be high up on your strength list.
I'm not saying to drop the ball anytime you're not "naturally" good at something - but don't feel pressured to be everything to everyone all the time, especially if help is available! By asking others to step in where their strengths are, you are allowing them to 1. Know that they are important and needed and 2. Strengthen their craft, whatever it may be.
Don't be afraid to delegate. Delegation brings people together and it allows everyone to slow down a bit and savor what's going on around them. Never underestimate the power of teamwork. Life isn't meant to be a one (wo)man show.
xo, Jess
