Story: Year 10 starts in a world where the world ended. Father (Lacroix), Jake (Goodger) and Girl (Khalique-Brown) live a silent life of threats. However, the threats are now humans, hunting humans for food. When they get attacked their quiet life is turned upside down.
Jake must find a way to survive after they have everything taken. However, he must show a more brutal side, if he is going to help his loved ones survive.
Verdict on Year 10
Year 10 is a sci-fi survival horror movie, following a small group of survivors in a destroyed world. They survive with limited supplies and threats around every corner. However, a new threat pushes them to their limits, as they must prepare to fight back.
This movie takes us back to humans in their barbaric ways in a post-apocalyptic world. It creates an empty landscape with limited supplies and resources. The lack of words is deafening as it shows communication lines have been shattered and even the groups who want to work for the same thing are scared of each other. While the core story might be similar to many before it, it is the environment that takes over and draws you in with one of the best-created empty worlds in recent years.
Final Thoughts – Year 10 is tense, and suspenseful and takes us to a depressing vision of the future.
