If you love soothing folk tunes with simple instrumentals and rich vocal harmonies as much as we do, look no further than Wyvern Lingo. Their EP is simply enchanting (with appropriately-named track “Fairytale”) and reminds us of a more poppy, less haunting First Aid Kit. Armed with acoustic guitars, keys, synths and some percussion, this Irish female trio keeps their sound minimal, with a smattering of strings and flute woven throughout to remind us of their Irish influence. However, their dedication to folk is brilliantly displayed in “Snow”, a beautiful homage to Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. In this song, finger-picked guitar and faint synths back a strong melancholic voice singing about her saturated heart aching with her lover’s burdens. The single voice swells into full, pure harmonies that make our hearts ache as deeply as the narrator’s. We dare you to listen to “Snow” and walk away from it unmoved.
