I have always been a fan of those bulky bicycle helmets. It actually made me feel awesome when riding my bicycle wearing my helmet. But, some people hates to wear helmets on bicycles. This couple of highly intelligent design students, Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin were among them. They wanted to create a bicycle helmet that doesn’t mess up their hair (I assume), so they went ahead and invented an invisible helmet. Well, at least that’s what they call it.

I hate to be the negative guy here, but to me that “Invisible helmet” looks nothing more like a neck brace with airbags that pops up to protect  the head of the cyclist when it detects their head is in danger. However, technologically speaking, it’s quite an impressive creation. The quick detection of danger and the fast deployment of the airbag is absolutely brilliant.

These things are now up for sale at $537, thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign. Although, it will probably take a few more years to improve it to get past government safety regulations.
