Hop Savant from Crooked Stave and a Peanut Butter Porter from Liquid Mechanics
World of Beer Boulder recently opened at 921 Pearl Street (Boulder). If you’ve ever been to a World of Beer location, you know you can expect to find an impressive tap list and quality food. And World of Beer Boulder definitely delivered.
On my recent visit I was thrilled to find so many Colorado beers on tap, but more specifically—beers from Boulder County. Upon browsing the list I immediately noticed some of my local favorite breweries were represented, such as The Post, Avery, Fate, Sanitas, Crystal Springs, and more. And of course there were plenty of other great beers from numerous states and countries. I ultimately decided to go with a Peanut Butter Porter from Liquid Mechanics, which is extremely rare to find on tap outside of the brewery itself.
Brett Saison from Powder Keg & World of Beer with Tavern Taters
It was a beautiful day to visit: sunny, mild temperatures…a perfect patio day. And the patio on Pearl Street is an excellent spot for people-watching, so that was a bonus. I was happy to sit out in the nice weather and sip my beer while I decided on some food. At the very top of the menu is one of my favorite things: giant German Pretzel with house-made beer cheese. But I couldn’t resist the Tavern Taters: homemade beer cheese, jalapeños, scallions & sour cream. Note: I ordered mine vegetarian-style, but they normally come with bacon! Pretty much one of the most delicious dishes ever.
Margherita Flatbread
The Margherita Flatbread was awesome too; I love the sweet balsamic glaze! Each dish on the menu also has a recommended beer pairing, which is nice. It’s helpful for those who want to get the most out of the flavors of both their food and beer. And if you don’t want the recommended style of beer that’s listed, the staff is happy to help out with additional suggestions. I enjoyed everything about WOB Boulder: a plethora of good beer, tasty food, and hanging out on the patio. Can’t wait to go back!
