I was just reading “The problem with digital preservation“, and discovered that today is World Digital Preservation Day!
I had not heard of this day (or its old name, International Digital Preservation Day) before. I must read more about it and decide whether to add it to the list of Special days the Harvey Mercheum website acknowledges each year. I mention it now because my previous post, “Storing the Harvey Mercheum in the Internet Archive“, is essentially about my efforts at preserving the digital content that makes up the Harvey Mercheum website. I know I am not the only one facing this problem, hopefully the Digital Preservation Coalition or similar organization will come up with some innovative solutions!
