I don't know the first thing about soccer (or football for all you non-Americans--your system makes more sense. Kind of like the metric system, military time, Celsius, etc...but I digress). But I DO know that the World Cup is in Brazil this year, which means that we must celebrate!
As I've mentioned before, I lived in Brazil for a year and a half and I love it. So much. I dream about it even. The people are the most loving you've ever met, the good is delicious, the topography is unreal (have you been to Sugar Loaf in Rio?! It's crazy cool!). As the World Cup begins this week, I thought it'd be fun to celebrate with some recipes from Brazil, just in case you are throwing your own festivities. Over the next few days we'll be introducing your taste buds to a variety of new flavor.
Here's a little preview of what's to come: Brazilian cheese bread (pāo de queijo), romeo and juliet skewers (guava and cheese), beijinhos (ummm, translation: little kisses), sonhos ("dreams" or Brazilian's version of a cream puff), pineapple juice, coconut bars.
