PETA introduces Workshop Weekends. Its courses include Creative Musical Theater II, Basic Acting, Teen Theater, and Children’s Theater, with each course accepting only 25 students.
The workshop consists of nine sessions with six hours each. All sessions fall on Saturdays (Oct. 27; Nov. 3, 10, 17, 24; Dec. 1) and Sundays (Oct. 28; Nov. 25; Dec. 2). The last two sessions will be allotted for a Technical Dress Rehearsal and a Talent Showcase.
Children’s Theater, for ages nine to 12, gives its participants theater experience through games, imaginative play, and creative exercises.
Teen Theater, for ages 13 to 16, allows young enthusiasts to experience the cognitive and affective process of theater, while aiming to harmonize their thinking, feeling and willing.
Basic Acting, for ages 17 and up, is designed to provide basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes on becoming stage actors.
Lastly, Creative Musical Theater II, for ages 17 and up, focuses on the elements of musical performance and composition. It also studies the forms of musical theater with focus on the Philippine experience.
Registration will start on September 18. Applicants are invited for an interview at the PETA Theater Center so that the workshop may be adjusted to the participants’ theater background.
