Working with Microsoft is "perfect" According to Xbox One Indie Dev
Posted on the 18 July 2014 by Sameo452005 @iSamKuliiMicrosoft has often been criticized for its lack of support for indie titles, but according to one indie dev, working with the company has been "perfect".
In an interview with NowGamer, Chad Moldenhauer, who is currently working on the upcoming Cuphead, shared his thoughts on working with the company.
"Working with Microsoft has been perfect," he said. "There is absolutely nothing we’d want to change. They are very forward thinking with their approach and will be as hands-on or hands-off as we need."
NowGamer also spoke to Mattia Traverso, a game designer at Through Games, currently working on Kinect-based Xbox One title, Fru. He disagreed with the notion that the company ignores indie games.
"The company has highlighted successful indie titles in the past," he said.
"Maybe with some problems due to its structure, and maybe only a few titles, but it did promote a few gems here and there.
"What Microsoft was not doing was clearly and visibly opening the entrance barriers."
"I am not really sure what is going to happen next. I hope both Microsoft and Sony will still maintain high quality controls, to avoid a flooded market like the App Store."
