I heard about Woolzies Dryer Balls and wanted to give them a try for myself. Would they really work? Here's what they do:
"Woolzies are pure handmade New Zealand wool dryer balls that soften your laundry naturally without any of the chemicals of conventional fabric softeners. Unlike the plastic dryer balls, they are PVC free and won't fall apart or melt on you. Woolzies save time and energy by cutting down on drying time by an average of 25% per load. They also help reduce static and wrinkles."
I noticed less static on certain materials. I'm an avid fabric softener user so for me, I missed the "fresh scent" from using that. However, these did make my clothes feel equally soft and without having to buy another set for 1,000 loads, it's definitely worth the money ($34.95 for set of 6).
My dryer isn't the best dryer in the world and sometimes would take 2 cycles to get things completely dry. While using Woolzies, I did notice a difference in dry time on big items such as blankets and sheets and such.
Have you tried Woolzies? What type of fabric softener or dryer sheets do you use?
