We don't often get Norweigan painters on this blog, but here's one who yet again is a new discovery for me. This is the Realist artist Christian Krohg (1852-1925). It's actually called Oda with Lamp, and I like the composition, and also the nice domesticity of the picture. Oda was the painter's wife, and was a painter herself, as well as living rather an exciting sounding life with a great many love affairs. She's obviously having a break from it all in this painting.
