Calling my fellow Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies fans! The Royal Shakespeare Company have just announced that there will be repertoire productions of BOTH at the Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon this December.

Hilary Mantel’s two astounding novels have been adapted for the stage by Mike Poulton.

I am SO THERE. How about you?

They’ve also announced that David Tennant will be starring as Richard II at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre from the 10th of October (my birthday!) also as part of their Winter 2013 season. I must admit that I’m having trouble imagining Tennant as Richard II to be honest (especially after seeing Ben Whishaw’s astonishing portrayal in The Hollow Crown) but I’m sure Doctor Who fans will be thrilled (I’m not sneering here – my behavior when I went to see Kenneth Branagh star in Hamlet at the Barbican many moons ago was hardly above reproach). Personally I think Tennant would make a really good Richard III (especially when he does that mad eyed snarling thing he’s so keen on) but I’m sure he’ll be great.

Well, this is all very exciting. I hope they release more information about the Wolf Hall television series soon – I’m desperate to find out who they have cast as Cromwell, Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn!

Ooh, it’s snowing AGAIN.
