Winter Skincare Picks That Will Leave Your Skin Hydrated & Glowing

By Triedandtestedblogger @triedtestedblog

As someone who has normal-dry skin, 2 of the biggest struggles in Winter is finding skincare products that are hydrating enough and ones that give your skin a glow as dry skin often leaves you looking dull in complexion.

Today I’m showcasing 5 products in one of my Winter skincare regimes that have really impressed me in those departments.

palmers cocoa butter creamy cleanser and makeup remover burts bees intense hydration night cream neutrogena hydroboost eye roll on antipodes apostle skin brightening serum good thinks manuka honey daily moisturiser

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Creamy Cleanser & Makeup Remover – As always, this has the signature cocoa butter scent and works well to remove makeup (though I do usually opt to remove my makeup with micellar water or a wipe first and then use a proper cleanser) and cleanse the face. The formula lathers nicely for a cream and is gentle on the face, leaving skin feeling cleansed and smooth without that uncomfortable tight feeling or any greasy residue left on the skin. Take a look at my past review on Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula products here, here and here.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye Roll On – Being a big fan of the Hydro Boost range, I was excited to try this eye cream and it is a lovely soothing and hydrating product for those who suffer from puffy eye bags or dry skin under the eyes. With a metal roller ball applicator, it cools and de-puffs the under eye as you apply the product to the skin and a little goes a long way, just like the other products in the range. It’s helped keep dry skin at bay under my eyes and ensured my under eye concealer applies smoothly.

Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream – When it comes to night creams, I look for hydration that lasts, leaving me with smooth, soft skin the morning after application and this cream definitely delivers on those points! Whilst it does feel quite rich when you apply it, you only need a small amount for each application and once rubbed in, it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin at all. It absorbs very quickly, leaving no residue on the skin’s surface but immediately you feel that your skin is plumped and smooth. The next morning, your skin feels lovely and hydrated and after continued use, I found it left my skin with a subtle glow too. I’ve also reviewed the brand’s Radiance Toner here.

Antipodes Apostle Skin Brightening Serum – Being a water based serum, this is perfect to use day and night as it has a light texture. This product is one that I constantly seen being given 5 stars and I can see why so many people love it as it really does work and provides a noticeable difference. While it isn’t the most hydrating serum, application is easy as it smooths over the skin and soaks in quite quickly which ensures it wont affect any makeup you might apply on top. It has a lovely scent and definitely provides a lovely healthy glow to the skin, leaving it looking brighter, clearer in complexion and more awake.

Good Things Manuka Honey Daily Moisturiser – Being a slightly thicker cream in the tube, once applied to the skin, it almost melts in and really does deliver on the hydration front. Suitable for vegetarians, the formula contains a wonderful array of ingredients to hydrate, smooth and heal the skin whilst being free from any nasty ingredients. I opt to use this as a day cream as it provides a fantastic level of hydration without leaving any greasy or tacky residue on the skin but it does give the most subtle healthy sheen to the skin (which is quite hard to describe). It just leaves the skin looking fresh and healthy and acts as a lovely base under makeup.
