I've had the book for a few weeks now and have been trying out some recipe's to give my thoughts on.
Firstly though, All of the recipes are inventive and tasty twists on classic hearty meals. They are simple to prepare and much better for you than the dirty originals.
Since adopting the vegan diet three years ago, Sam has been experimenting in the kitchen and has learnt how to continue eating what were her favorite meals, from burgers and spaghetti carbonara to hot dogs and donuts, all made without meat, dairy or any animal products.
With over 100 recipes, the book will take you through the day from breakfast to dinner. It includes recipes for banoffee pie porridge parfait, chickpea and apricot salad, beet and blackbean burger, macaroni and cheese, peanut nutter jelly slice and much more, using only vegan ingredients that allow you to enjoy a healthy, nutritious, balanced diet while eating the food you really want.
I was really sceptical about the recipe's because as much as I want to be a vegan, I always associate vegan recipe's with vegetable tasting things. Sounds obvious right? well, whilst the recipe's in this book are healthy and well proportioned, there is an element of 'Treat yo'self' in a few of them.
The Bannoffee pie was delicious! I didn't expect to love it without whipped cream but actually, it was pretty bloody lovely. I also am a big fan of the carbonara which I must admit, my Mum made for me. Yes, I'm 30 years old. No, I don't give AF.
