New Zealand’s Willy Moon returned to New York City this week for a rousing set at the Gramercy Theatre. One thing I can say is that the man has swagger — Willy stunned the crowd with his seemingly boundless energy with dance moves that reminded me of a mix of Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis and Lupe Fiasco. If you missed him, don’t sweat it as he promised to return to the NYC area soon. In the meantime, you can check out his debut album Here’s Willy Moon.
Speaking of high energy, opener Little Daylight was a very pleasant surprise — both Nikki Taylor and Eric Zeiler formerly of the band Xylos make up two thirds of the band (they are a quartet live). Little Daylight’s set was full of danceable upbeat synth pop tunes that sound just as great live as they do on record. Check out Little Daylight on their soundcloud or see them live when they hit the road again this Fall.

Are Nikki and Eric really no longer part of Xylos?
