Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

By Youngandcraftysisters

As many of you know, I am getting married in April.  I couldn’t wait to ask my closest girlfriends to stand next to me on mine & Brent’s big day!  I knew I wanted to do something crafty and special…so I started browsing Pinterest like most DIY crafters!

I wanted to set the precedent that this experience will be fabulous and full of fun…and what better way than with a bottle of gold, glittered champagne!

I chose this particular bottle of champagne because the colors working with my black and gold theme.  You will also need painters tape, glitter of your choice, and an adhesive.  I chose to use a spray sealant as my adhesive for ease of use.

Tape off around the neck of the bottle.  Carefully spray the bottom half with the adhesive.  You could also paint on a layer of glue or Mod Podge if you don’t have any spray adhesive handy.  Place down a piece of scrap paper before you start sprinkling on the glitter to catch the excess.  After each bottle is glittered, carefully tap off the excess glitter and funnel it back into the container to use again.

I learned this next step the hard way…or maybe Hannah learned the hard way.  I gave Hannah her bottle first since we live in the same town and eat dinner together at least 1-2 times per week.  The floorboard of her car will never be the same.  It looks like a gold glitter explosion.  So I recommend once the glitter dries, spray another layer of the sealant/adhesive to lock down all that glitter!!  You will thank me later, trust me!

I found the photo on the right on pinterest (click here), which was $15 per invitation on Etsy.  I loved the look of it but this wedding is on a budget.  I made my own custom invitations on Microsoft Word and printed it on cream colored scrapbook paper. I used maroon, which will be our accent color for the wedding.   Once I printed each card, I cut a slit and a circular opening for the neck of the bottle.

I love how they turned out and the reaction of each friend!!  Such a special time that I am excited to share with each one of them.  I think it would be fun to save the champagne to enjoy at the bachelorette party or the morning of the wedding while we get pampered!!
