Right before a crazed trip down to Austin for SXSW, we welcomed the friendly folks of Brooklyn band Widowspeak into the recording studio of Alex Sterling in Manhattan. The colorful book-lined walls felt like a natural setting for the group — they came in from the snowy streets, browsed around the collection, and then got straight to recording. ‘Buzzsessions’ is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie. With each new episode, we travel with a different band to a different part of New York City and record sometimes-intimate/sometimes-wild versions of two or three songs.
