Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are all set to indulge in friendship and rivalry like no one has ever seen before. The official trailer for Jon M. Chu’s Wicked was released yesterday. The movie is set to release its two parts in theaters on November 27, 2024, and November 26, 2025, respectively.
Ever since the teaser of Wicked launched in February this year, fans have been anticipating a full-fledged trailer for it. Universal Pictures received a good response to the first look and has now given the audience a bigger treat. The production company released the official trailer for Wicked on May 15, 2024.
The Ariana Grande-starrer promises to take viewers on a journey to the magical world of Oz. Wicked is a movie adaptation of the stage adaptation of the same name. The film will feature two protagonists who develop a likable bond, despite their personalities being the complete opposite of each other.

The upcoming movie also stars Grammy Award-winning actress Cynthia Erivo in a key role. She plays a green-skinned woman named Elphaba Thropp. Elphaba becomes the Wicked Witch of the West and develops a bond with Glinda.

The two characters meet at Shiz University. Soon, their friendship takes unexpected turns, with more drama on the way. Many talented stars join the crew of Wicked.
With Grande and Erivo being the main leads, Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage, Ethan Slater, Jeff Goldblum, Bowen Yang, and others will back the film.
The film’s director, Jon M. Chu, also unveiled the trailer for the movie through his social media account. He added,

At this year’s CinemaCon, exclusive trailer footage was shared with the theater owners. Chu, at that time, said,
We dreamed very, very, very big for Wicked.
The Crazy Rich Asians director revealed his respect for the source material of the film. He had said,
A magical land of sights and sounds that will astonish and performances that will lift your spirits and occasionally break your heart.
For the unversed, Wicked is going to be released in two parts. The first part will hit theaters on Thanksgiving this year, on November 27. Meanwhile, ‘Wicked Part Two’ is slated for release on November 26, 2025.
