Why Should You Be Excited for Vivo Z1 Pro?

By Travelrasoi @travelrasoi

The Indian mobile community is heavily influenced by PUBG, and companies are designing their phone to cater to this demand. Xiaomi has been dominating this market, but there is a new challenger in the market, and it is Vivo Z1 Pro. Vivo aggressively specs this phone and kept a low price.

This phone is marketed to be a gaming beast and has a tagline “Fully loaded”, so let dive in to see if this phone is what it says. And can it give competition to Xiaomi in the mid-range phone?

Design and build:

When you hold the phone, you will notice that Vivo Z1 Pro is big and bulky (206 grams). It is easy to hold due to favorably arched. Vivo went with the trend for the front camera cut out. The bezel around the screen is very narrow, which gives the phone a 90% screen to body ratio. The back has a glass-finish gradient which can be too flashy for Sonic Blue.

Display:

Vivo Z1 Pro has 6.53-inches screen and has an IPS LCD panel. The resolution is 2430 x 1080 pixels (Full HD+) and has a sharp display. The fonts and color on the phone look very natural, and you won’t find any difficulties operating the phone in sunlight or in a dark room. There are options for dark mode, and eye protect mode. This makes the screen suitable for viewing videos and playing games, especially PUBG.

Camera:

Vivo is always known for its camera. Z1 Pro has a main 16 MP shooter and a secondary 8MP wide-angle camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. The front camera has a 32MP output resolution. The back camera clicks just fine in daylight but struggles in low light.

The Night mode comes in handy and can take a breathtaking picture. The portrait mode is average, and the camera has some fun advanced features. The Selfie Camera is the best among its competitor. Overall, Z1 Pro camera isn’t groundbreaking but more than enough for its price.

Performance:

This is where Vivo Z1 Pro shines. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 712. The phone has Dual core, 2.3 GHz + Hexa Core, 1.7 GHz, and has an Adreno 616 GPU.

The phone has two variant one is 4GB and 6GB, with an internal storage of 64 GB and 128 GB respectively. This can be extended to 256 GB using external microSD. This makes Z1 Pro the perfect choice if you want a gaming phone which will perform effortlessly. This is due to their powerful GPU and features like gaming mode and 4D vibration.

Battery and other features:

The battery backup is excellent in the phone. It’s 5,000 mAh battery can easily last a day with extensive battery. The phone support 18W dual engine fast charging and the battery charges to 70% in one hour.

The phone has Funtouch OS 9 and is based on Android 9. This UI resembles an IOS look, but with no app drawer, the keypad sucks and makes the UI boring at times.

Other features in the phone are pretty standard with Dual Sim 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, etc. The phone has both AI face lock and fingerprint scanner. This makes the unlocking process very quick and reliable.

Should you buy the phone?

Vivo Z1 Pro offers excellent specs, decent LCD display, a powerful battery, a dedicated card slot, and an audio jack. However, this phone isn’t for people who prefer handy and compact phone. There are few flaws in the UI, lack of type C port, etc. Having said this, Vivo Z1 Pro is a different beast in the current market, its approach to gaming makes the best under 15,000. Looking at the overall phone, Z1 Pro is a worthy option.
