Strollers or pushchairs are used by us all at some time, but at what point do you fold it away and never use it again? Would that time be when your child is old enough to walk?

Now I admit that only a few weeks ago my 3 year old was fastened into ours and pushed to nursery, he is more than able to walk to nursery and back and does so daily but when the husband went away for a few days and I was home alone and having to take our 2,3 and 4 year old to nursery I could not even begin to think about walking them all there, so I cheated. I pulled out the double pushchair and in went the 2 and 3 year old.
I do love my big tandem, I get road rage and everyone moves to the side when they see the tank approaching, it’s kind of good in a way.
There have been days when I have collected them from nursery and dreaded the walk home with them, especially when it’s raining or they are fed up and throwing tantrums, yes my kids have shit days, don’t judge me and I wish I had brought the pushchair with me. But I always feel as if others would judge me for it.
Is it wrong to use a pushchair if it means life could be easier for you?
It was so much easier to have them both strapped in and only having to walk the 4 year old. Yes maybe I could have walked 2 and just put the youngest in the pushchair, as there’s no way he’s ready to walk that far just yet, but I wanted an easy option.
I do admit that some kids are far too big to be pushed around and do look rather silly and I have looked and thought jeez that kid should be walking, but for me that day it was anything for an easy life.
What do you think? At what age are kids too big for a stroller?
