Why Green Tea is My Fav. Skincare Ingredient? | My Routine

By Shivalisingla

I have combination skin and most of you might already know that when you have combination skin you have got an oily T- zone which gets irritated, if you use any harsh or non-friendly products to cleanse, tone or moisturize it. So, today I am going to share why I love using Green Tea as a main ingredient when I look out for products for my combination skin.

(Also, Green tea is great for oily skin too.) You can also have green tea as a part of your diet in it’s purest form.

Your skin is aging every single day. You can’t really stop that but a healthy skincare routine could help in delaying it. Also, you don’t have to invest in fancy or high-end skincare products for it. A simple skincare routine ensures that your skin remains healthy and damage-free, preventing premature aging.

And this ingredient called Green Tea surely help with that.

Green Tea Skin Benefits:

-Green tea is known as a source of antioxidants that helps to maintain the healthy functioning of your skin cells and prevents damage.

-It helps to remove toxins, which improves skin health.

-It draws out impurities from your pores, toning your skin and minimizing pore size.

-The antioxidants and tannins also help reduce puffiness and dark circles.

-Green tea has antibacterial properties that help reduce acne and prevent breakouts.

Now, that you know above benefits of green tea, I am going to share with you my Skincare routine which is a basic CTM routine of mine. It includes A Face Wash, A Toner or Facial Mist & A Moisturiser. Now, I make sure all of the products that I use twice a day have green tea in it.

Everyday Skincare Routine:

Step 1. I wash my face in the morning with Innisfree Green Tea facial Foam or Plum Green Tea face wash.

Step 2. After Step 1, I either apply the Plum Green tea toner or I spritz the Plum Green Tea face mist on my entire face and let it dry.

Step 3. I apply the Plum Green tea Moisturizer after toning my face and follow it up with a sunblock of my choice which has an SPF of 25-30 at least. In the night skincare routine, I simply skip the sunblock and just use the moisturizer or follow it up with a good night cream instead.

I repeat these steps every single day and I love how my skin has got better with these products. I also make sure to keep my skin hydrated by drinking a lot of water and it does help in removing toxins out of your body which again helps your skin to look and feel healthy, and also acne free.

Weekly Skincare Routine:

Other than that, I make sure I scrub my face once or twice a week to remove all the dead skin cells and clean the pores. I follow it up either with a facial sheet mask if I need some extra hydration or I simply go for an Activated Charcoal Peel off mask to remove those tiny impurities, whiteheads & blackheads off my face.

Also, I make sure to remove all the makeup before going to sleep so that my skin is clean and dirt free. I have noticed my skin breaks out lesser than it used to before and I have been using these products which are chemical free for a good 3-4 months now and I am completely in love with these. I also had recommended these products to my relatives and friends who had acne issues and these have really helped them as well.

So, this pretty sums up my Daily Skincare routine basics. If you want me to do a detailed post on my Weekly Skincare routine and the products that I use, then please let me know in the comments below.

Until then 🙂
