Start apologizing to your cat if you’ve blamed it for making your Dell Latitude 6430u Ultrabook smell like cat urine because apparently it’s not responsible for your notebook odor. According to a report from BBC, a lot of Dell Latitude laptop users have been complaining about how their laptops smell like cat urine.

“I thought for sure one of my cats sprayed it, but there was something faulty with it so I had it replaced.  The next one had the same exact issue, ” one user said on Dell forums.

After looking into this issue, Dell has come to a conclusion that the smell was produced during the manufacturing process. ”The smell is not related to cat urine or any other type of biological contaminant, nor is it a health hazard,” stated Dell support technician SteveB. “If you order an E6430u now, it will not have the issue.”

The company promises that current brand new Dell Latitude 6430u Ultrabooks doesn’t contain the “cat urine” smell and asks users to send in their devices to replace the smelly parts.
