whollyKao – We Got a Puppy!

I’d like to introduce to you the newest member of our family: Hattie. We got her on Saturday through DFW Rescue Me. She and her 6 brothers and sisters were found abandoned at 2 weeks old. They were so young that they had to be bottle fed.

She’s now 12 weeks old, and very sweet. I’m excited but also a little scared – getting a dog has been on my bucket list for forever. The only pet I’ve ever had before this was a black hen named Pidgie, back in the 4th grade. She laid lots of eggs with double yolks (my sister ate most of them)!

Anyhow, Jeff and I know that raising a puppy is a lot of work (it’s only been a couple days and we’ve already been faced with a lot of challenges). But we’re looking forward to taking care of Hattie. I’m thankful for all our friends who have been giving us lots of puppy-care info. If any of you have any puppy training tips, I’m all ears!
