White Nails

White Nails
Recently, I read an article talking about how most people wear bright colours in the summer to enhance a tan, when actually you should be wearing the lightest colours possible to increase the contrast between skin and nails, giving the illusion of a darker tan. With this in mind, I set out to find the lightest nail polish I own, and came across Maybelline's Winter Baby. Previously, I had only used this polish for nail art so was intrigued to see what it actually looked like as a block color. On the first coat, it leaves a sheer wash which brightens the whites of your nails, giving an instant french manicure type effect which I think it would be perfect for work/school natural nails to give a polished, perfected look. However, this wasn't really the look that I was going for as I wanted opaque color so I applied two more coats. By this time, the color was around 80% opacity giving the nails a gorgeous milky look them. With my Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat it dried within a couple of minutes and I was ready to go. I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes to a tan, but I really love the color. What do you think of white nails?
