Oral Roberts University is set to host a televised special for the “9/11 Day of Prayer and Repentance” next week where the featured speaker will be none other than the bestselling author of “The Harbinger,” Rabbi Jonathan Cahn.
The university, located in Tulsa, Okla., will televise its event through the online channel GEB America next Wednesday. It will coincide with related festivities across the nation.
The “9/11 Day of Prayer & Repentance” is a movement that began in April as an editorial column that appeared at WND.com written by WND CEO and Founder Joseph Farah.
Within days of its appearance, the response came from thousands of readers wishing to enlist themselves and their families, church groups, Bible studies and neighbors in the call to prayer and repentance.
Overwhelmed by the outpouring, Farah noted about the “9/11″ call to action: “When America was founded 237 years ago, fellow believers fought to establish and protect the role of God in the fabric of our country. We are a nation originally built on and by prayer. Today, as Christians, we can look around and readily see that our beloved homeland is tragically broken and our culture is breaking down and dramatically moving away from God. Those of us who understand the challenges we face for the very survival of America as we have known it as one nation under God must start planning now to do something radical.”
That something is the 2013 nationwide Day of Prayer and Repentance.
The call for 9/11 to be a day of prayer and repentance has been endorsed by some of the nation’s faith leaders as well as stars in their own fields, such as actor, author and martial arts champion Chuck Norris, the famed Promise Keepers men’s group that organized the massive “Stand in the Gap” prayer event in Washington in 1997, where, unlike many “million-person” events, there actually were more than a million attendees, and longtime songwriter and singer Charlie Daniels.

Okay, now we’ve seen the Pope call for prayer and fasting, and we have here a call for American Christians to humble ourselves, turn from our sins, and seek God’s mercy.
God has a history of responding to real repentance. He even turned His wrath away from Nineveh! ~TD
Jonah 3
Nineveh Repents
Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh the great city and proclaim to it the proclamation which I am going to tell you.” So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three days’ walk. Then Jonah began to go through the city one day’s walk; and he cried out and said, “Yet forty days and Nineveh will be overthrown.”
Then the people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least of them. When the word reached the king of Nineveh, he arose from his throne, laid aside his robe from him, covered himself with sackcloth and sat on the ashes. He issued a proclamation and it said, “In Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let man, beast, herd, or flock taste a thing. Do not let them eat or drink water. But both man and beast must be covered with sackcloth; and let men call on God earnestly that each may turn from his wicked way and from the violence which is in his hands. Who knows, God may turn and relent and withdraw His burning anger so that we will not perish.”
When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their wicked way, then God relented concerning the calamity which He had declared He would bring upon them. And He did not do it. –Jonah 3:1-10
